Vans Classics Drops the Sidestripe Pack for Spring 2015
35 years ago the Sidestripe started as a random doodle by Vans founder, Paul Van Doren, and was originally referred to as the "jazz stripe." Now, all these years later, the Sidestripe has become a distinct mark of the brand and is featured on two of Vans original silhouettes, the Old Skool and Sk8-Hi.
This spring Vans is introducing three new color offerings to their Sidestripe pack along with new prints to give fresh life to the classic Old Skool form. For the new line they've paired leopard with bright red, tortoise with khaki, and a sharp-looking cork-treated sidestripe on a crisp grey. Each style features a suede toe and heel cap, canvas uppers, and gold eyelets.
The Sidestripe pack is just one of many new releases set to launch this spring. It was recently announced that Vans' spring 2015 line would also include an Off The Wall Marble pack. The largest of their spring collection with nine colorways, the Marble pack features several iconic OTW silhouettes including classic lows, mids, and high-tops with black and white marbled designs.
The Marble pack also introduces two new silhouettes, the Marleaux and Tenent. The former combines the shape of the Alomar with the lightweight construction of the Prelow, while the former features a thick mid-foot strap and custom midsole molding.
Stay tuned to see what else Vans has in store for Spring 2015.
The Sidestripe pack retails for $60 and the OTW Marble pack retails for $80-$110. Both are available now at Vans.
