WALL/THERAPY
Rochester, NY
To provide the healing power of art to the Rochester public, Dr. Ian Wilson started WALL/THERAPY, a week-long festival that brings street artists from around the world together to decorate the blank walls of this Western New York city. Intended to bring the community some much-needed inspiration, this year’s festival is scheduled to run from July 18 to July 27. Started in 2011, the festival featured four artists, grew to 11 artists in 2012, and trumped the prior year in 2013 with 30 muralists. This year’s theme will be portraiture, and with their previous roster of artists like Faith 47, Gaia, ROA, and Lady Pink, we can’t wait to see how Rochester’s walls will be transformed this summer.
