When it comes to graphic novels, Frank Miller is the dude. Among his most revered series is the Sin City collection. From The Big Fat Kill to Family Values, Miller told his gritty metropolitan tale using a series of shady characters that navigate through Basin City creating tons of bad karma. Aside from the great storylines, the artwork of Sin City is what makes it such a classic graphic novel, which uses black-and-white and occasionally pops of color for extra emphasis. While the film adaptations of Sin City are great, you have to read the OG graphic novel versions to get the real experience.
