1. Kirko Bangz
Next up in the Houston hip-hop movement is Atlantic Records artist Kirko Bangz. Incorporating both singing and rapping into his style, this East Houston native has already got the co-signs — and a few collaborations — from the area’s veteran emcees. He worked his way up the hip-hop food chain by simultaneously pushing the Procrastination Kills and Progression mixtape series at the same time, and the work has clearly paid off. Whether he’s prepping the release of his debut album, Bigger Than Me, or rolling out on The Trillest tour with Bun B, it’s easy to see that Kirko Bangz is making a transition from the come-up kid to a center stage star.
