4. Arkansas: Boardertown
Whether they are raising money for new public skateparks or holding contests around their own 10,000 square-foot skatepark, Boardertown has the local skater’s best interests in mind. Not only is Boardertown awesome on the inside, their entire front exterior is a massive Conor Harrington and Maser mural. They’ve put on high-speed best trick contests, downhilll races, and contests scoring on style instead of strictly on what gets landed. Boardertown is also the kind of shop that will hook a kid up with some slightly used gear for next to nothing just to keep them skating.
