We have all seen chainsaw sculptures that start as trees and are formed into bears or Native American chiefs. But it's mostly performance art. The creation process often ends up being more impressive than the finished piece. Enter Aron Demetz. The Italian sculptor has created a series of wood sculptures as part of a show called "The Tainted" at London's Gazelli Art House. The pieces showcase his technical ability and are a pleasure to look at. Demetz's sculptures of the human form are near perfect recreations of the body with deconstructed features that provide a stark contrast to the otherwise smooth surfaces.
The exhibition will be on display at Gazelli Art House in London through June 5.
