Donnie Trumpet Teases New Album With Chance the Rapper
Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment have released a short video clip of “Nothing Came to Me,” a song from their soon-to-be-released project, Surf. Supermodel Cara Delevingne stars in the teaser that features music from Trumpet’s first collaboration with the Social Experiment, which includes Chance The Rapper.
Trumpet, whose real name is Nico Segal, is a 21-year-old musician from Chicago who already has a vast amount of music industry experience under his belt. Over the past few years he’s toured overseas with Frank Ocean, released a solo album, and performed at some of America’s largest music festivals.
How does one accomplish so much at such a young age? Trumpet is a former member of Kids These Days, a group that performed at the likes of Coachella and Lollapalooza before they ultimately split up in 2013. From there he toured as a live musician with Frank Ocean and then released his solo EP, Donnie Trumpet.
Trumpet takes top billing for Surf over the rest of the Social Experiment members, and there’s a reason behind the decision to put his name first. “We’re working on all this music together, but this project in particular is a Donnie Trumpet project,” he told The FADER.
Surf is set to be released this spring. Until then, check out “Nothing Came to Me” and listen to more from Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment on SoundCloud.
