See Unkle Luc's Hidden Messages From Kanye: Digging Through the Greats With Unkle Luc
Each week, Green Label invites a visionary photographer, filmmaker, designer or artist to dig through their folios and tell the story of their favorite works. This is: Unkle Luc.
I got into graphics my senior year, around 2006. I had a few friends on MySpace that would do cool graphics, and I always envied that. I spent most of my time helping my mom raise my younger brother, who’s autistic, during my teenage years. I first found MovieMaker and Photoshop on my mom’s computer, and then I found a camera in her closet.
Everything documents me growing as a person and showcasing my surroundings. With one of my projects I’m using movie images and different things that have made impressions in my childhood to relay certain messages or feelings.
I don’t want people staring at my art trying to figure them out. I’d rather that the combination of things throw people off enough to open their minds. I’d hope that they catch them off guard just enough to make them think and get them inspired.
I’ve had a vivid look on things since I was a kid, and since then, I’ve really explored that and I try to give that to the world.Click to start the list
