Minas Tirith Made From 420,000 Matchsticks
If you're a fan of The Lord Of The Rings, you may be familiar with Minas Tirith — the capital of Gondor. It looks like the City Of The Kings has now been recreated by artist Pat Acton, using 420,000 matchsticks and a good share of glue. By purchasing matchsticks without the sulfur tip directly from match manufacturers, Acton was able to construct the model within three years of consistent work. You can check out a few more of his matchstick marvels on his website, but scan through the gallery above for a better look at the White City of Middle-Earth.
