Edouard Martinet - “Rhinoceros Beetle”
Edouard Martinet became introduced to the world of insects by one of his teachers when he was 10 years old, and the fascination with bugs has stayed with him into adulthood. He has created a series of creatures using a variety of junk and mechanical parts. To make his small “Rhinoceros Beetle” sculpture, the French artist used several different bike parts, including brakes, chains and a Luxor headlight, among other materials. Instead of soldering or welding his sculptures together, he simply uses screws to construct them, usually taking him about one month to complete.
