Part of MTV’s Liquid Television animated showcase, Æon Flux gave everyone their Matrix fix way before “The One” became synonymous with Keanu Reeves. The show had it all: a dystopian setting, one leather-rocking hero — or heroine to be more exact — and an anime feel that made everything pop visually. The entire show looked like one big fantastical dream, which made the sleek animations and mature subject matter easily fade into the background for young viewers not in the know. If only that live-action film adaptation from 2005 was equally as entertaining as the show. We’re still trying to wrap our heads around that one.
